Blake Baxter was Part of the 1st wave of Detroit Techno artist producers and Deejays he was one of the main DJ?s in Detroit to break the techno sound in Detroit dance clubs at that time Blake Baxter had one of the most successful Fridays Nights in Detroit for three years at the Majestic Theater club in the late 80?s Blake Fused Alternative D.O.R Like New Order and Depeche Mode and Nitzer Ebb With Disco, Dance music & acid house music and techno music Before Detroit techno Before MP3 downloads when Chicago house was in it?s prime Blake Baxter was their and signed to Chicago house music label (DJ International) the label that host artist like Chip E, Tyree Copper, Marshall Jefferson and many more House music legends greats


When Detroit Techno took the world by storm Blake Baxter was there and is an important unmistakably Part of the creation and sound of Detroit Techno electronic music movement Releasing music projects on Detroit legionary labels like KMS, Transmat and Incognito and UR Underground Resistance record label and the first Detroit artist Techno music compilation called (The New Dance Sound of Detroit) on Virgin 10 records based in London this was the album Compilation that defined the Detroit Techno sound latter

When UR introduced their sound vision of Detroit Techno to the world Blake Baxter was there called by his Detroit and UR Comrades as on his 1st release on UR was titled the (Prince of Techno) EP vinyl and in Berlin when Tresor label and Club was at it?s focal point Blake Baxter was one of Tresor 1st international artist signed to the label no other artist from Detroit has been at so many important Pivotal turning points in the electronic music movement witch just shows his love and dedication to the art form and electronic music sound Blake Baxter has collaborations with Kevin Sanderson, Derek May, Eddie Folks and releases on UR to Amsterdam?s Orlando Voorn, London?s Trevor Rockcliff and Chemical Brothers UK to Switzerland Thomas Fehlmann and Germany?s Moritz Von Oswald just to name a few artist collaborations since the electronic movement began

Blake Baxter has toured all over the world and still continues to do so today Blake Baxter has toured with many of Detroit?s top names like Underground Resistance and Blake has also toured with Tresor record Label and artist from the label like Joey Beltrem and Christian Vogel and Blake was a resident DJ at the First Tresor club and has released music on Tresor electronic music label Tresor is based in Berlin Germany Blake still DJ?s at Tresor club and tours Europe

Blake still represents Detroit and the sound today in his music productions and DJ sets and live performance Blake more recently starting in 2005 Blake Baxter has collaborations with Abe Duque from NYC and a long time friend the first EP vinyl a underground ground acid revival tune call What happen an instant club classic the lyrics written by Blake asking the DJ and club kids (What Happen) a tune for the Underground club scene the tune re-sparked the Acid sound 2009 Blake and Abe are back at it in April 2009 Abe has released two new collaborations with Blake one is titled Wake up and the other is Lets take it back both tunes are a tribute and a wake up call to electronic artists creativity

Blake also has collaborations with DJ/artist Marc Romboy from Düsseldorf Germany together Blake and Marc have five 12inch single collaborations first release was an underground Banger called Freakin and the second release titled in the club and third House Ya and Underground thing

All have Marc Romboy signature sound all are dance floor pleasers with a big clean sound recently in 2009 Marc and Blake collaborated on a sure fire classic called if it wasn?t for the music (Where would you be) A nod to the new techno heads DJs and Producers and anyone who still goes to the Club and Dance

Blake is passionate about the electronic underground movement and often refers to it in his lyrics Blake Baxter is performing live and Deejaying and also performing with Abe Duque live on his sets in July 2009 Blake and Abe performed live three dates From Berlin to Moscow Blake also has a project group and label called (Poetry and Rhythm)

Blake Baxter style is spoken word and poetry mixed with electronic dance music poetic whispering some time humoristic Some times sexy always some thing to think about so it only make sense to call his Style poetry and rhythm after all that?s what it is?.
