Beschreibung zur Veranstaltung:
Bristol’s laid back atmosphere and dense musical landscape has garnished some of the greatest DJs in electronic music to date, with each managing to keep things interesting and unique. Returning artist Gramrcy is one of these artists who has garnered much attention ever since the release of his debut 12” Ruffian on Berceuse Heroique’s sister-label, Ancient Monarchy. Gramrcy’s style within the confines of this record hones in on nostalgic rave-inspired breaks, wailing synths, muddy, disjointed basslines and melodies that make you feel as if you are stuck in limbo with no idea how you got there. Gramrcy has become a cherished figure within Bristol’s electronic music scene and it is not hard to see why: an artist whose sound can be introspective, dark, and uncertain at times, breaking free of stylistic shackles, straddling a gloriously indefinable line. Fellow Bristolian Alex Golesworthy is also on the decks, an artist who collaborates with Gramrcy in their killer Housework parties in Bristol, along with residents Shanti Celeste and Daisy Moon. Anastasia Panagou is Nadja who has emerged as a DJ over the past couple of years and has quickly become a local favourite amongst clubs and party promoters on her current “there’s no place like home”, which is the island of Crete (Greece). Nadja‘s cheeky flow through House and Techno has also caught the attention of various online radio shows and brought her to turntables in many European clubs such as Amsterdam’s Beatclub. We welcome Nadja back to the House of Waxx decks!
