Beschreibung zur Veranstaltung:
Alexander Kowalski is a true Tresor techno pioneer and legendary live artist who also founded his own Damage Music label in 2009, and who elegantly fuses elements from classic Detroit and historical Berlin techno. His affection for sophisticated bass lines, deep beats and challenging arrangements breathes new life into techno. He knows perfectly how to program his tracks to sound straight, deep, housy, dubby or funky – and this versatility is one of the reasons for his reputation with both ravers and underground-oriented techno nerds. It was in the early Tresor days that he got in touch with Pacou, resulting in his first releases on the Tresor label under the pseudonym DisX3. A techno producer and live performer since 1997, Alexander Kowalski has racked up an impressive volume of work including five solo albums, countless singles and remixes, for acts like Dave Gahan, Agoria, Paul Kalkbrenner, Sascha Funke or Len Faki. Tonight we are privileged to host the release party for his new 13-track album on Mord Records (out May 26th) “Cycles”, a return for Kowalski to the harder edged techno of his early career and an homage to the pioneers of early 90s. Invited guest and truly prolific artist Mark Broom has a myriad of production credits to his name having worked with a lengthy list of world renowned labels. No stranger to the Tresor decks, we are excited for his return to our home. Among recent collaborations finds him with James Ruskin, Mark Broom has also had the pleasure of reworking material from artists such as Dubfire, Edit Select, F.U.S.E, Dj 3000 and Alan Fitzpatrick. And tonight two of our best basement DJs Marcel Heese and Mario Berger will battle it out B2B to sear the night tightly. In Globus: from Chicago, Hakim Murphy has consistently dropped silents bombs with releases and mixtapes. Music has touched Hakim Murphy in a way that made him fall in love with its rhythms, harmonies, and melodies. Synapsis Records and Machining Dreams record labels are born and are currently releasing music by, for, and from the underground. Then after learning the craft, collaborations were born as Murphy is part of Innerspace Halflife, Pegasus Heat, Resonating, Hardware Hustlerz, Slowmotion, and Dream Scoring. Johanna Knutsson caught the music bug in 2008, she promptly moved to Berlin from her native Sweden, signed to independent Berlin-based label, Klasse Recordings. A passion for 80s disco, house, hi hats and handclaps inspired 2 dance floor killing edits of Imagination’s “So Good So Right” and thumbs up from fans. Apart from producing music and playing records in and outside Berlin, Johanna Knutsson founded the vinyl only cult label Zodiac 44 w. Luca Lozano and UFO Station Recordings w. Hans Berg, where the two of them release their own productions. Hailing from Lasi, second city of Romania, Andrew Red Hand is a self-taught DJ, producer, uncompromising warrior of the underground, ”the Romanian Detroit electro / techno pioneer” (Igloo Magazine). With frequent comparisons to Detroit, Andrew Red Hand‘s musical productions fuse together the soul of his native town Iasi, known as ”the spiritual capital of Romania” with the futuristic electro, techno, techno-bass, acid house, being characterized, in fact, by his country’s free, no compromise exploration of electronic music. Having remixed for Underground Resistance, for their Radio UR and a mix for Detroit Techno Militia’s radio show, Andrew Red Hand is a force to be watched. Stanley Schmidt is a House/Deephouse DJ and producer based in Leipzig and Berlin, resident at Berlin’s Buttons parties, co-founder of Rivulet Records and one half of Monsanto High. An artist bent on pleasing the dancefloor, his sets reveal an underground trip from House to Techno.
