Beschreibung zur Veranstaltung:
Knotweed Records is a vinyl label launched in 2011 out of Chamonix, France, by Belgian DJ and producer Philippe Petit, exploring different shades of techno. Philippe Petit is originally from Brussels, Belgium, where he started DJing in the early nineties. After spending 15 years in London, he moved to Chamonix, France, in 2010 where he started two vinyl labels: Knotweed Records and Decision Making Theory (DMT). Giordano is an upcoming Italian talent in the techno scene, who debuted in our home on a Tresor New Faces night last April. He is well known for his energetic DJ sets, live sets and also his residency at Bunker, Padova. His talent comes from the dancefloor reason that push him in a obsessive research of dark sound and drones which are constantly changing and evolving. Giordano’s first release on Wunderblock records ” Our World” marked his debut in clubs as Corsica Studios in London, Affekt club in Frosinone, Rashmon club in Rome, Altavoz in Venice and many more. His talent comes from the dancefloor reason that push him in a obsessive research of drones, melodic phrases, and rhythms which are constantly changing and evolving. An uncompromising underground ethos, Lee Holman has garnered support from a host of Techno’s brightest names. Performing in clubs since the late nineties, he has travelled throughout the world compounding a reputation for his unique vision on Techno. Playing a fusion of deep, raw and energetic electronics, Lee Holman’s sound creates a myriad of tension, constructing the perfect combination of musicality for club appearances. Performances both as a live act and as a DJ have unlocked opportunities to share hallowed ground with Techno’s elite. Production has earned Lee Holman international recognition, leaving his mark at the forefront, building a reputation for consistency, originality and delivering his dynamic sound on both cutting edge and classic Techno labels. Founding the Kawl Imprint, the label’s aim was to provide diversity in Techno and this formula was immediately picked up on and amounted to rave reviews on Resident Advisor and impressive charts and plays by leading connoisseurs of the underground. Myk Derill’s early influences involved a plethora of musical genres & that eclecticism still motivates him today. A rock edge, punk stance, funk / hip hop riffs all rooted their way in as ideas to expand. In 2005, he began to produce & turn those ideas into reality. At first, Myk found inspiration from his friends at Fachwerk Records but then went on to decisively strengthen his own unrivaled sound, and eventually joining the Knotweed Records roster of artists. Steppin up to the present & after numerous digital releases, Myk now produces exclusively on vinyl., fusing commanding basslines, rhythmic sections with dub, detroit flavors, & futuristic atmospheres/melodies. His sound/DJ sets never sacrifice on that element of soul or that dash of funk that killah techno with heart/groove requires. In Globus: Stellar OM Source originated from Christelle Gualdi’s desire to unhinge from her academic musical upbringing. Gualdi was inspired by – and also an integral member of – the late aughts DIY synthesizer community. Alongside Oneohtrix Point Never, Emeralds and James Ferraro, Stellar OM Source’s stream of self-released CDRs defined a zeitgeist of artists trending away from their noisy roots via polyphonic escapism. Gualdi’s latest interplanetary offering, Nite-Glo, sees her tempering the freneticism unleashed on 2013’s Joy One Mile and its offspring 12” Elite Excel. Recorded solely with live hardware, this limited edition 12” highlights the emotive and mediative potential of combining synths and 303 lines within more a more spacious field. Barnt is co-owner co-founder of the label/group/archive/depot called Magazine. The multi-faceted project finds its home in Cologne, Germany. Gwenan discovered dance music one night in 2007 and has never looked back. After a few years as a Londoner, dancing and playing at parties including Undersound, Toi Toi, and her own HiFi, as well as gigs overseas in Paris, Ljubljana, and as far afield as Tokyo, Gwenan‘s path has recently led her to Berlin, where she is attempting to take all this a bit more seriously. While techno is her first love, Gwenan can occasionally be found playing ambient and experimental records for projects including Experiment Intrinsic, Perm, and My Own Jupiter. Gwenan is a resident at The Pickle Factory in London. Born in Berlin, artist Ron Wilson started out with his event & podcast series Tanzmichmal over a decade ago and is now busy with his own record label 777 Recordings, earning him underground credibility around the globe. With his new residency at Tresor and hosting his own clubnight bookings at Globus, Ron Wilson counts among Berlin’s most prolific electronic music DJs, playing diverse styles ranging from techno to acid to house and electro.
