Beschreibung zur Veranstaltung:
Hong Kong native Steven Tang‘s humble beginnings in electronic music started after migrating to Chicago in the early 80s. 1998 saw the establishment of Emphasis Recordings with his debut release, “Windy City EP, and in 2006 Steven Tang relaunched the label under the alias Obsolete Music Technology, as well as releasing tracks and producing music on many other distinguished international labels. When Mike Grant’s fresh Moods & Grooves label began raising more than a few eyebrows with its catalog of releases by many of Detroit’s best house producers, few knew that he has been a key figure in the Motor City’s early to mid-‘80s electronic dance scene as a talented DJ. Grant is one of the few Detroit DJs who plays complete deep house/house or techno sets as well as a mixture. While traveling throughout Europe Mike Grant earned the distinction as being the first American DJ to have a residency in our home. In 2001 Grant launched the techno-based label End to End and urban sounding Afrosyntrix. Recent accomplishments include remixing the Detroit classic “Sharevari,” being selected to perform at Midem’s Electronic Showcase, selection and participation in DEMF/Movement, and inclusion to the “Techno – Detroit’s Gift To the World” exhibit at the Detroit Historical Museum. Marc Schneider is an influential DJ and producer from Hamburg who has never missed any major development or pivotal release in quality dance music. Marc Schneider can flex is DJ muscles in so many different ways and sensibly guide the crowd through a tasteful and kicking mixture of all things house and techno. Tresor Club resident Magda El Bayoumi is an artist of Polish and Egyptian origin living in Berlin, Germany. She tends to oscillate between different sub-genres of house and techno: whether she is opening the night, playing in prime time or closing the party, she adjusts easily providing best possible performance and record selection to fit the night. Good classic or fresh and new sound techno and house or versatile electronic productions play an important role in Magda’s choice of music today. There is only one rule: quality. On the Tresor Floor: Marc Trauner aka The Mover is a Frankfurt DJ who Tresor fans know from his full-length vinyl on our label, 2002’s “Frontal Frustration” (Tresor.198). He was also co-founder of record label Planet Core Productions and the hardcore techno production team with the same name, better known as PCP. In 1996 Bill Youngman’s “Electrostep” EP dropped a bomb on the international techno scene, and his ensuing releases on Tresor Records, as well as his incredible high-energy live performances, created blissful havoc in the dungeon. Tonight he brings his techno dynamite to the Tresor decks once again – not to be missed. Italian artist Alessandro Gaja debuted in 2013 on Repitch, and also records on his own Ophism Record label, focused on releasing rusty, live recorded analogue jams of underground acid techno, electro and lo fi synthesizer music. Gaja’s releases on Ophism include “Nanook”, “Money Create Taste” and “Slaves Of The Future”. Frequent guest and Buttons resident, Berlin-based Madalba of Femme Fraktale will be sharing the decks. In September 2011, Madalba moved to Detroit where she started the collaboration with DJ Seoul and Tom Linder of Detroit Techno Militia. This travel has definitely and radically changed her approach to the techno concept, which she considers more a political and social phenomenon and a lifestyle than just a musical genre. Aside from all this, she launched her own record label “Future Déjà Vu”.
